Debut delight for Detry

Thomas Detry kicked off his WGC career with an impressive two under par 70. The Belgian recovered from two bogeys in his first three holes with a spectacular run of six birdies in eight holes around the turn. “I got off to a brutal start, three-putted the first hole with a beautiful drive and then bogeyed the third, which was a par five,” said Detry. “Very pleased with the way I bounced back with three birdies. And same on the back nine, bit of a shame on those last couple holes, leaked a few but still very happy with the way I played.”

Matthew Wolff had a day to forget and was already 11 over for his round when he accidentally hit his ball while taking a practice swing for his birdie putt. After a recent rule change, Wolff was able to replace his ball without penalty, but still three-putted for a bogey.

Perfection from Perez

Rahm startled
