The Road to Mallorca makes its second trip of the year to the Czech Republic for the Kaskáda Golf Challenge which takes place at Kaskáda Golf Resort, from June 15 - 18. Here's what you need to know before play begins...
Stunning surroundings
Situated close to the historic South Moravian city of Brno, the course at Kaskáda Golf Resort features undulating greens, multiple teeing positions, numerous lakes and strategically placed bunkers. It has three nine-hole circuits - the Wooden, Stone and Iron – which all provide a different challenge. The Wooden nine plays along the contour lines of the valley, with the downhill par three seventh acknowledged as one of the most photogenic in the country. The Stone nine is routed over more hilly terrain, culminating in a right doglegged par five that weaves between small lakes en route to the home green. The par four second hole and par three seventh are the highlights on the Iron nine which is slightly flatter, with water coming into play at both holes.
Kaskáda winners
The Road to Mallorca visits the Czech Republic for the second time in three weeks, with the players set to tee it up in the third edition of the Kaskáda Golf Challenge. The first of those took place in 2021 with German Marcel Schneider birdieing his last three holes to secure a dramatic one-shot victory. A year later, Martin Simonsen was in imperious form to win on the Challenge Tour for the first time, with the Dane sealing a wire-to-wire triumph thanks to a closing four under par 67. Both Schneider and Simonsen would go on to earn promotion to the DP World Tour at the end of those respective years.
Road to Mallorca heats up
The Road to Mallorca Rankings are taking shape as the season reaches its 13th week, with Frenchman Ugo Coussaud in a commanding position at the top. In the absence of Coussaud this week, Road to Mallorca Number Two, Casey Jarvis, will be hoping to close the gap even further. The South African has been in excellent form in recent weeks, recording back-to-back second place finishes at the Copenhagen Challenge presented by Ejner Hessel and D+D Real Czech Challenge to surge up the Rankings. A win here would see him move into first place; a position Frenchman Coussaud has held since March.
