The Spaniard started his season by taking advantage the co-sanctioned events with the Sunshine Tour at the start of the Challenge Tour season by recording a sixth placed finish at the Bain’s Whisky Cape Town Open.

Tarrio continued to impress throughout the season with a standout month arriving in June as he picked up two victories in three weeks at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge and the Challenge de España in his homeland, the latter of which was sandwiched between a third placed finish at the Challenge de Cádiz and a tie for fourth at the Open de Bretagne.

The 31-year-old climbed to the top of the Road to Mallorca Rankings and strengthened his position at the summit by recording two further top fives in July at Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge and the Italian Challenge, before making the most out of an invitation to play on the top tier at the Hero Open where he finished in third place.

The Spaniard arrived at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A in pole position on the Rankings but after carding a one over par opening round of 72, his position as Road to Mallorca Number One was put in doubt. Tarrio eventually finished in a tie for 12th at the season finale, which saw him drop two places to third on the Rankings as Marcus Helligkilde secured a Rankings and Rolex Grand Final double.

Tarrio began his DP World Tour season at the Joburg Open where he finished in a tie for 23rd, as the tournament curtailed after 36 holes.
