The European Challenge Tour today announces two new events which will form part of the end of season Spanish Swing on the Road to Mallorca.
The Andalucía Challenge de España, from November 5-8, 2020, and the Challenge de Cadiz, from November 11-14, will both take place at Iberostar Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri, in Cadiz, each with a prize fund of €200,000.
The two events on the Andalucía coastline precede the season-ending Challenge Tour Grand Final, which will now take place from November at 19-22, at T-Golf & Country Club, in Mallorca.
Jamie Hodges, Head of Challenge Tour, said: “We must thank the Spanish Golf Federation, Rolex and The R&A for their support in helping to create these two new events.
“The Challenge Tour has a long and successful history of holding events in Spain and we are pleased to be able to provide our members with additional playing opportunities at the end of what has been a challenging year for everyone.
“I would also like to extend our thanks to Real Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club for agreeing to host us for two weeks in November and I know our members will enjoy teeing it up on Spain’s first golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros.”
Jaime Salaverri, President of the RFEG Professionals Committee, said: "The confirmation of the Andalucía Challenge de España and the celebration of a new tournament, the Challenge de Cadiz, also in Novo Sancti Petri, is a joy for Spanish golf.
“The Andalucía Challenge de España is one of the longest-running tournaments on the Challenge Tour, beginning in 1998, and, following the strictest security measures, it will be a great celebration of golf and the professionals will be able to recover their activity at the highest level.
“We hope that some of the best up and coming players in Europe can come and that the Spanish continue to reap the success achieved by winners of this tournament in past editions, such as American Brooks Koepka, who won in 2013.”
Both events in Chiclana de la Frontera, Cadiz, will be played behind-closed-doors with no access granted to the public.
