Byeong's birdie burst

Home favourite An made his move in the second round after a birdie-birdie start. A brilliant approach at the opening hole saw him drain his putt from four feet before backing that up with a better effort from 15 feet to send a message to his rivals. He ended up at the summit after rolling in eight birdies and two dropped shots on Friday to set the pace at 11 under. "I feel like I made a lot of putts of 10-footers, 15-footers so I think that helps for making birdies," An said. "They weren't the easiest of putts, but I've rolled in some nice putts in the last two days. I love to see the fans out here cheer for me. It doesn't matter whether things go well for me or not, they are still there. It would be nice to hold the trophy at the end of the day but I haven't been here for the last five years - six years in a tournament - so all I'm trying to do is show some good golf because they don't see much of me, so I'll try my best and see what happens."

Francesco produces fantastic Friday

Francesco Laporta began the week needing a strong performance to climb into the top 70 on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex to reach the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. He was a two under heading into Friday's second round and he soon got on the birdie trail. Starting on the back nine, he got off to a birdie-birdie start before giving a shot back at the 12th. He bounced back with a birdie at the 14th and 18th to reach the turn in 33 before a hat-trick from the second catapulted him to eight under and when he picked up another shot at the seventh, he was joint leader with An. The South Korean moved two clear, with Casey Jarvis joining Laporta at nine under in a share of second.

Penge leaves it late

The top 114 on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex after Sunday's final round will earn their card for next season. The Englishman, who was in 115th position before travelling to South Korea, had a roller coaster second round which meant he slipped below the cutline at level par heading down the last. However, Penge nervelessly birdied the last to make the cut on the line and boost his chances of keeping his playing rights. Look at the relief on his face!

Wu's wonderful stretch

Ashun Wu is one of those on the bubble to keep his playing privileges and was reached the turn in a precarious position at one over before holing this effort in the middle of three straight birdies. He parred his way home to extend his tournament into the weekend. Well played Wu!

Söderberg's super hole out

Sebastian Söderberg may have missed out on making the cut in Incheon, but he produced one of the shots of the day with this effort at the third for a birdie.
