        Five players led the way, former Major Champions showed their class and Marcel Siem finished with a flourish on day one of the 2025 BMW International Open.

        Here is everything you need to know from the opening round at Golfclub München Eichenried.

        Logjam at the top in Munich

        Englishman Marco Penge set the pace when he carded eight birdies, a dropped shot and double bogey to set the clubhouse target of five under par. Malaysia’s Gavin Green had a calmer opening round of six birdies and a bogey in his 67, while China’s Wenyi Ding birdied four of his final five holes to reach five under. Dutchman Darius van Driel signed for six birdies and a bogey to reach the summit, while France’s Ugo Coussaud produced arguably the round of the day with his flawless 67.

        Just Siems easy for Marcel

        Charismatic home favourite Marcel Siem delighted fans as he reached red numbers for the first time in his opening round with a stunning eagle at the last. Just watch this approach!

              Classy Kaymer shows his touch

              Two-time Major Champion and former World Number One Martin Kaymer showed he has not lost any of his ability with this brilliant chip-in at the eighth. The reaction from his caddie says everything.

              Schwab feeling chipper

              Matthias Schwab has struggled for form this season, but the Austrian, who was among 12 players sitting two shots adrift of the leaders at three under, followed Kaymer with a hole-out from the bunker at the fourth.
