Martin Couvra became the man to catch while another Frenchman broke the course record on day three of the 2025 Italian Open.

Here is everything you need to know from Moving Day at Argentario Golf Club.

Couvra takes over at the top

Couvra will bid to become the first multiple winner of the year on the DP World Tour on Sunday and takes a one-shot lead into the final round following a patient 67 on Moving Day. The Frenchman started the day one stroke off the lead and found himself two behind after 11 holes despite carding two birdies and no bogeys. That all changed at the very next hole, though, as playing partner Angel Ayora surrendered a triple bogey on the 12th to hand Couvra a one-shot advantage. A 22-foot birdie on the 15th briefly sent Couvra two clear but a bogey on the 17th and pressure from the chasing pack meant he headed to the 18th tee tied at the top. The 22-year-old, who won the Turkish Airlines Open last month, saved his best until last, bouncing back with a birdie from seven feet on the 18th to reach 11 under par.

        Sordet breaks course record

Clément Sordet made a huge move early on Saturday, shooting a course-record 62 which featured an eagle, seven birdies and one bogey. The Frenchman, who started the day nine shots off the lead, heads into the final round just three back. He said: "I didn't know eight under was the course record. Obviously I'm pretty pleased with it. It's the kind of Saturday we're all looking for."

              Von Dellingshausen chips in

Nicolai von Dellingshausen shrugged off missing the green at the par-three 14th, producing a perfectly-judged chip which hopped over the fringe and ran all the way into the hole for a brilliant birdie.

                    Saddier throws dart

Sticking with the 14th, Adrien Saddier took dead aim with his tee-shot there to guarantee himself a second successive birdie. The Frenchman went on to make another gain at the 16th to head into the final day just one shot back.

                          Hill makes his move

Scotland's Calum Hill carded a flawless 64 to jump to eight under and put himself in the mix going into what promises to be an exciting fourth round. He said: "It’s always hard to win a golf tournament, so I’ll be there or thereabouts. I always feel comfortable when I think I’m playing well and it’s around about that time, so I’m hoping just to see if I can put myself within range and see what happens."
