Here is everything you need to know from Friday's play at The International in Amsterdam.

        Lager top

Sweden's Lagergren finished his round of 68 before the two-hour stoppage for high winds, taking him to eight under par after an opening 66 completed at almost 9pm local time. That shared the honours for the best round of the day and was enough to lead by two from Ricardo Gouveia as the conditions made scoring difficult throughout. Lagergren said: "I was grinding a lot all day. I had three three-putts today and it doesn’t feel very bad, just tough."

        Chips with everything

Wil Besseling, playing on his home course this week, delighted his nearest and dearest with this superb birdie from a bunker at the seventh.

Possibly even more impressive was this from Wenyi Ding on the steep bank by the third green.

              Big bird

Niklas Lemke will not be around at The International for the weekend after a second consecutive 76 but at least left with a positive memory in the form of an albatross at the par-five third. It came without even finding the fairway as he sent his tee-shot 354 yards into the left rough before a 183-yard eight iron into the hole. It was the third DP World Tour albatross this season and the fourth in KLM Open history, following Søren Hansen in 2005, Thongchai Jaidee in 2008 and Richard Bland in 2012, and earned the Swede a pair of complimentary tickets from the sponsors. For Lemke, this wasn't his first albatross on tour. “My first was about three years ago in Scotland or Northern Ireland — I can't quite remember. I also achieved it during college in the U.S. and shortly afterward so this is the fourth in my career. Thanks to the airline tickets, this round ended on a pleasant note.”

Jason Scrivener then scooped a pair of tickets as well after the Australian made a hole in one from 110 yards on the par-three 11th.

              Gently does it

Richard Mansell made a fast start, with three birdies in his first four holes - though the last came from daring to take it slowly, teasing this putt to the top of the ridge and allowing the terrain to do the rest. The celebration said it all!

              See you tomorrow

Play was suspended shortly after 4pm local time as the howling winds caused balls to oscillate on the course. While there was no immediate ruling on a restart as officials waited to see if the conditions would calm down, Pablo Larrazábal was quick to call it...

The Spaniard's declaration was premature as play resumed just over two hours later, with tournament director Miguel Vidaor explaining the decision-making process.
