After the Opening and International Swings, the 2025 Race to Dubai schedule resumes after an off-week with the start of the third of five Global Swings.

With the top three players at the end of the Swing earning exemptions into the US PGA Championship, and the highest-ranked player not already exempt guaranteeing their place at the Genesis Scottish Open, a fast start is invaluable.

Held for the third year running at Laguna National, the tournament features an array of international title hopefuls.

Headlining the field is Robert MacIntyre, who won twice on the PGA TOUR last year including on home soil at the co-sanctioned Genesis Scottish Open.

The 2023 Ryder Cup winner is joined by a host of this season's DP World Tour winners, rising stars, and Asian favourites hoping to make home advantage count.

From insight into the week’s most-picked players among Fantasy managers, to our ones to watch, we run the rule ahead of Thursday’s deadline to pick your team.

Who are the most backed players?

As the top ranked player in the field, World Number 14 MacIntyre is unsurprisingly the most picked player in the early stages of selection with 82% of players putting him in their team.

There is then a big gap to China's Haotong Li, a winner already this season in Qatar, on 48%, with Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin next in third on 41%.

English duo Daniel Brown and Sam Bairstow round out the top five, on 37% and 34% respectively.

Who are our ones to watch?

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

        Favourite - Robert MacIntyre

The Scot is a far different player than the one who missed the cut at this event in 2023. He has since gone on to represent Europe in a Ryder Cup, become a two-time PGA TOUR winner - including at his national open - and establish himself in the top 20 on the Official World Golf Ranking. As a dual member on both the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, he is used to the challenges of being an international golfer. Having finished in the top 20 on his only previous start so far this season on the Race to Dubai, the 28-year-old fan favourite is expected to mount a challenge for his fourth DP World Tour title. He arrives at Laguna National on the back of finishing tied for eighth at THE PLAYERS last week at TPC Sawgrass.

Form Horse - Brandon Robinson Thompson

The Englishman has enjoyed a fast start to his rookie season on the DP World Tour, climbing into the world's top 200 for the first time last month. A graduate of the HotelPlanner Tour last year, he smashed the course record in the first round of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship with a 61 on his way to finishing eighth - the first of three top tens in his last four starts on the 2025 Race to Dubai to help him finish 15th in the International Swing Rankings. To have done so in different continents highlights the 32-year-old is a player adept at challenging in different conditions and he will hope to capitalise on the inevitable confidence his early season form has brought him.

        Wild Card - Ockie Strydom

The South African makes a welcome return to DP World Tour action this week after a lower back injury forced him to retire from the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in the first round in January. While it's an issue that affected his campaign last year, he will hope to make a quick impact on his comeback at a course which brings back so many good memories. It was at the inaugural edition of this event that he won his second DP World Tour title as a closing 63 saw him claim a one-shot victory over Sami Välimäki in 2023. Back then, he was as high as inside the world's top 150 so his current ranking of 621st highlights the injury troubles he has since faced. While it may be a cliché, beware the injured golfer.

        Looking back – Joburg Open

Having missed three cuts in succession prior to the final event of the International Swing, Calum Hill was unfancied with just 2% of Fantasy players picking him but he claimed his second DP World Tour title in a play-off. For the 522 players who picked him, they were rewarded with 219 points, with just nine making him their Captain.

It was a case of mixed fortunes for those of you who went with our Ones to Watch in Johannesburg, as Favourite Jordan Smith finished tied 30th after a strong start, Form Horse Shaun Norris lost out on a second win this season on home soil over extra holes and Wild Card Darren Fichardt missed the cut.
