Nexo Championship - day three digest

Shaun Norris equalled the course record, early holes proved difficult and a rare bird made an appearance in Aberdeenshire.

Everything you need to know from Trump International Golf Links.

Rare bird appears in Aberdeenshire

Shaun Norris produced the shot of the season when he used a 3-wood for his second into the par-five fourth, which found the cup from 267 yards. That catapulted the South African into a two-shot lead at seven under with the 124th albatross on the DP World Tour since 1999, before adding three more birdies and a dropped shot to reach nine under.

Here is another angle of that brilliant second from Norris. Just fantastic.

Norris equals course record to surge ahead

The 44-year-old produced some magical shots during his six-under 66, which equalled the lowest round on the Old Course at Trump International Golf Links. His tee-shot at the short par-four seventh found the green in another standout moment of Moving Day as he kept the chasing pack at arm's length in Scotland. When asked whether he knew he was on for the course record before his birdie putt at the last, Norris said with a wry smile: "No, now I'm more annoyed!" The World Number 103 added: "I'm very pleased with the way I played, I hit the ball nicely today and gave myself good chances. I think we are in a good position, go out there tomorrow, have some fun and try give myself some chances of birdies and see what happens."

Zanotti's remarkable recovery

No idea how Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanotti ended up very left with his tee-shot at the par-three sixth, but he certainly made up for it with his next!

Second and third holes prove tough

Usually a fast start can help move a player up the leaderboard but Trump International Golf Links certainly made that hard on Saturday. Only five birdies came at the par-four second, while just four were carded on the par-three third with no-one managing to pick up shots on both holes during the third round.

Young finishes with a flourish

The home crowds were celebrating when Daniel Young holed out for an eagle at the last, which saw him get back into the red numbers ahead of the final round. The 34-year-old had three birdies on the card by the seventh, but slipped down the leaderboard following four bogeys. However, his eagle three at the 18th saw him move into a share of ninth, seven shots behind Norris at two under. Young said: "Yeah, that was nice. I struggled a little bit on the back nine so it's nice to finish on a high."
