Both players punched their tickets to the final Major Championship of the 2025 season at the Italian Open, which is part of the Open Qualifying Series.

Saddier clinched a two-shot victory at Argentario Golf Club to claim his first DP World Tour title on his 200th start, while Couvra came second.

The pair will now make their Open Championship debuts in Northern Ireland next month, and Saddier will be taking his family along with him.

He said: "I'll have to cancel my flight to the U.S. for the Barracuda Championship!

"But yeah, it's great, it will be a nice event. And I'm sure my parents and maybe my wife will come, so it'll be nice.

"My first Major at Portrush, at The Open, it will just be good fun.”

His compatriot Couvra has enjoyed a dream rookie season on the DP World Tour.

After winning his first title as a professional at the Turkish Airlines Open in May, he registered his sixth top ten of the season in Italy to move to the top of the European Swing Rankings ahead of this week's BMW International Open.

“It is just a dream to play The Open. Hopefully it will be really nice to play at Royal Portrush, one of the best [courses] I think for the British."

Of the secret to his fine form, he added: “I just try to keep enjoy the life on Tour. I know I am playing well at this moment.

"We are working well as a team, so I just try to enjoy it and keep smiling on Tour."
