Maximilian Steinlechner relished being cheered on by bumper home crowds after shooting a spotless 64 on Saturday to move into contention at the 2025 Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand.
The 25-year-old Austrian put on a show for the enormous gallery, following up three birdies on the front nine with three more after the turn to move to nine under par ahead of Sunday's final round.
Steinlechner loved being followed by so many fans and revealed he had never before played in front of so many people.
He said: "It was really good, really fun as well with the local crowds following me throughout my round and applauding good shots.
"I really enjoyed playing in front of the home crowd and the golf was solid - I didn’t make a bogey.
"It was fun with all the people, I haven’t experienced that.
"I’ve played in front of crowds before, but never that big."
