Cabrera-Bello races ahead in Austin

Rafa Cabrera-Bello continued his excellent form at Austin Country this week to go four up against Byeong-hun An midway through their last 16 match at the WGC-Dell Match Play.

The Spaniard claimed two second-placed finishes on the Desert Swing and then finished 11th at the WGC-Cadillac Championship to arrive this week in Texas as the 52nd seed.

He claimed an impressive 2.5 points in the group stages and played brilliantly on Saturday morning, registering five birdies on the front nine.

A tee-shot to inside two feet on the fourth moved him ahead and he put his third to similar range on the par five sixth to go two ahead.

An was doing very little wrong and made seven pars with a birdie and a bogey on the front nine but that was not enough to keep up with Cabrera-Bello's early pace as his fellow European Tour Member holed a bunker shot on the eighth for another birdie.

An approach to six feet on the ninth then put Cabrera-Bello completely in control.

Ryan Moore was two up through eight holes against Patton Kizzire in their round of 16 match.
