Jorge Campillo will be looking to use all his experience as he goes for European Tour win number three on home soil at the 2021 Mallorca Golf Open.
The home favourite had to wait 229 events to claim his first win at the Trophée Hassan II in 2019 and since then has gone on to add the 2020 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters to his trophy cabinet.
A third round 64 at Golf Santa Ponsa left him two shots behind leader Jeff Winther, with the Dane holding his first 54 hole lead as he looks for his first European Tour win, and Campillo is hoping his experience will stand him in good stead.
"It took a while for me to win one time, so I guess I have more experience than the leader right now," he said.
"It will be a hard day tomorrow. You've just got to play well and do your best to win.
"I'm hitting the ball with the middle of the club now and I guess (with) a little draw on the ball it's going a little further
"Maybe in the last few months I've been hitting it a little further, I don't know why. I don't know what it is, I haven't been working out too much so maybe I'm just swinging it better."
Countryman Alvaro Quiros is a further shot back as he battles to keep his playing privileges at 149th on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex.
The seven time European Tour winner has seen it all before in his 38 years, and is sure he can contend for an eighth victory if he can get the putts to drop.
"I'm very happy with the round today, especially because the long game has been supporting my mentality or vice versa," he said.
"Putting was good for moments, perhaps a couple more could have ended up in the hole but hopefully I've saved them for tomorrow.
"Jeff Winther is playing very nicely, eight under today again, so my concern tomorrow is going to be another job day for me, improving a little bit again instead of scoring good."
