Chasing pack make moves at Woburn

Fabrizio Zanotti and Søren Kjeldsen moved to the top of the leaderboard as the British Masters supported by Sky Sports promised a dramatic final day on its return to the European Tour.

The last person to get their hands on the title was Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño in 2008 but a host of names were in contention as the final round got under way at Woburn.

Matthew Fitzpatrick and Kiradech Aphibarnrat had taken a one-shot lead into round four but with 16 players within five shots of the lead overnight, the top of the leaderboard was likely to change many times and that began at the first hole.

Zanotti rattled in a birdie from 12 feet to move alongside Fitzpatrick as Aphibarnrat dropped to 11 under with a bogey.

It became a three-way tie at the top as Kjeldsen picked up a birdie on the second and Aphibarnrat dropped another shot to drop to 10 under.

Tyrrell Hatton was making the big charge up the leaderboard as he picked up shots on the first, third, fourth, sixth and seventh to get alongside the Thai.

Mike Lorenzo-Vera birdied his first two holes to move to nine under and was joined by Marcus Fraser, who had two gains over his first four holes, and Anthony Wall, who birdied the second.

Shane Lowry, Luke Donald and Romain Wattel were also in that group after steady starts with players charging up behind them.

Oliver Fisher was four under for his round after opening with two birdies and he picked up further shots on the fifth and seventh to sit at eight under alongside Frenchman Edouard Espana who was also four under through 10.

Englishman Richard Finch had fired the low round of the day so far with six birdies and a bogey in a 66 which meant he ended the week on one under par.
