Grasses
Tees: Santa and Bermuda
Fairways: Kikuyu (Broad Leaf)
Greens: Bent
Maintained Rough: Kikuyu
Fairways
Fairly tight fairways in general.
Front Nine: Not much water in play, but stray shots penalized by bushes and/or trees.
Back Nine: 3 reachable par 5’s and plenty of lakes in play.
Rough
One width of semi cut at 30mm with the maintained rough at 85mm. Outside this there are some sandy areas with tall, wispy grasses.
Greens
There were over 7 inches of rain between Monday and Tuesday causing the cancellation of the Pro-Am. Fortunately the course is sand based and drains extremely well. The greens were running at 10.0 on the stimpmeter, but if the weather stays dry they will become much faster as the week goes on.
Course Details
The course is playing long due to the rain and kikuyu grass which does not give much bounce when balls land. Scoring could be very low if wind does not blow as the rain has made the greens very receptive.
Course Layout
The new modified stableford format should be perfect for this course as there are 3 par 5’s reachable on the back nine plus one reachable par 4, offering reward for those willing to have a go.
