Course Layout
This Gary Player designed layout is a resort-style course containing eight dog-legs (five right to left). There are fantastic views of Helderberg Mountain and False Bay and the course is surrounded by vineyards.
Course Details
The flat front nine develops into a very undulating back nine and the course will be tough to walk due to the heat. Players generally face a tough south easterly wind at Erinvale.
Fairways
Ernivale is an estate course where the houses lining the course often mean out of bounds. Ditches are plenty and adjoin several fairways whilst the terrain provides sloping lies throughout much of the back nine.
Greens
The large heavily contoured greens are well protected by a range of deep, revetted, sleeper faced and pot bunkers.
Rough
The rough is very dense providing some testing lies - Rough: 100mm, Semi-Rough: 35mm
Grasses
Greens: Poa/Bent (Penn Cross)
Tees, Fairways and Rough: Kikuyu Grass (very dense)
