Grasses
Fairways - Bermuda Jackpot, Poa Annua & Rye Grass
Greens - Agrostis, Pencross (bent grass) and Poa Annua
The Bermuda grass is now in a dormant period therefore the fairways look a bit pale, but are still good to play from.
Fairways
The fairways are fairly wide and there is not much rough as there is no irrigation covering the rough. There has been no rain on Is Molas for 8 months! and the main toughening factor is the usually predominant wind.
Rough
There is not much point in growing high rough as if you miss the fairway by 4 metres you are punished as much as if you miss it by 15, due to the lack of growth outside the watering system.
Greens
The greens are cut at 3.2mm and running at 9.6 on the stimpmeter (aiming for 10)
Course Condition
The course is playing quite short even though it measures over 7000 yards as a result of the lack of rain combined with the limited water supply through the summer period.
Course Layout
A good test of golf in general, made much more interesting when the wind blows.
Course Details
The 12th hole (par 5) has been lengthened by 30 metres making it now a 3 shot hole (before, the water hazard crossing the fairway could easily be carried in two).
