Fairways
Average to tight width. Sandy sub-surface, so will dry out quickly if warm weather prevails
Rough
1 width semi-rough (1.8 metres wide), cut at 30mm.
Maintained Rough at 85mm.
Outside this, same tall "Linkst" grasses with sandy lies as well.
Greens
Soft this week. Most greens have a constant slope throughout. Tricky if they become fast.
Stimpmeter reading - 11 foot 3 inches
Overall
Playing longer than last year due to recent rainfall. Rough is also more penal.
The wind is probably the biggest factor - if it does not blow it will be very low scoring as greens are receptive and good surface.
Front 9 holes have no water in play, but the back 9 have water in play on holes 11, 14, 16 and 17. The front 9 will almost certainly play easier.
