Special Features - not a long course but plays quite tough in the wind which is the norm here
General Playability -
Undulating/Flat - quite undulating
Treelined/exposed - generally tree lined

Greens
Type of grass - penncross (bent grass)
Height of cut - 3.5mm
Speed/stimp reading – 9.6' (Monday - should be 10.0 by Wednesday)
Any specific comments – all 18 greens have been changed after last year’s qualifying school/ the same contours have been kept but the grass type changed from bermuda to bent. The last green to be re-turfed (17th) was finished 7 weeks ago.

Fairways
Type of grass – rye grass
Height of cut – 10mm
General width and contouring – fairways are quite narrow but due to the lack of growth of bermuda grass in the rough as (it is still in its dormant period) they will play as if they are wider.

Rough
Type of grass – Bermuda/rye grass
Height of cut Semi-rough – rye grass - 25mm
Height of cut Intermediate – not possible due to lack of growth of Bermuda

Any specific comments – all fairways and semi-rough have been re-seeded with rye grass (original grass bermuda)

Weather
In advance – 45mm of rain between last Sunday/Monday
Forecast for tournament – it should be dry and breezy for the rest of the week (westerly Thursday – Friday & easterly Saturday – Sunday)

Water hazards in play on holes 4, 7, 9, 14 & 18.
