Greens - Bent Grass (Providence)

Fairways/Tees - Fescue/Bent/Rye

Rough - Bent/Fescue

Fairways

The fairways are of reasonably generous width carved though mature trees. The grass on the fairways is a little thin and prefered lies will be in operation thoughout the tournament.

Rough

Two cuts of rough will be established to approximately 3.5cm (Intermediate) amd 7.0cm (Rough).

Greens

The greens are running at around 9' on the stimpmeter

Course Condition

The course has suffered as a result of the heavy winter/spring rainfall. The course closed in October last year and only re-opened on May 4th

Course Layout

Designed by Peter Alliss, Clive Clark, European Golf Design (Ross McMurray) and Alex Hay, the course, named after the Marquess of Tavistock, is a joint venture between PGA European Tour Courses PLC and The Bedford Estate. At 7214 yards, it lies within 200 acres of mixed woodlands, overlapping the county boundary dividing Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Lofty pine, beech, spruce, sweet chestnut and oak trees tower above a variety of holes designed to test the best golfers in Europe.
