Everything you need to know from day one in Texas.
The big guns were firing, Bryson had a shaky start, Maverick grabbed his chance and Justin made quite possibly the par of the season on day one of the 2022 WGC - Dell Technologies Match Play.
Here is everything you need to know from Wednesday at Austin Country Club.
Favourites looking ominous
Let's be honest, we all love an upset. It's always good fun to see David bring down Goliath but the favourites were in no mood to be on the wrong side of the story on Wednesday. World Number One Jon Rahm, reigning European Number One Collin Morikawa, current DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex leader Viktor Hovland and defending champion Billy Horschel were all relatively comfortable winners on day one. In fact, only three of the top seeds were beaten all day.
Is there a doctor in the house?
Bryson DeChambeau battled to a hard-earned, scrappy half against Richard Bland - but only after finding a medical tent with his opening tee-shot.
Not all pars are equal
The 17th at Austin Country Club can be hazardous, with many balls finding their way into the ravine short left of the green. Justin Rose's ball went in there off the tee but he duly holed from the drop zone. Put me down for a three.
McNealy making it count
Maverick McNealy was not in the field for this event on Sunday evening. Fast forward three days and he claimed an 8 & 6 win against Joaquin Niemann that is the joint-fifth biggest in tournament history. Well played that man.
Monday morning: Finds out he’s the last man in the field in Austin.
