Testing conditions in Doha
It was extremely windy throughout the day on Saturday, providing a stern test for even the very best. But Matthew Jordan and Adrian Meronk passed with flying colours as they overcame the conditions to jump to the top of the leaderboard on eight under. We're in for a real treat on Sunday as both players search for a first DP World Tour win but they have a strong chasing pack just behind them.
Samooja hoping history repeats itself
Early starter Kalle Samooja managed to post a sensational 66 on Saturday, with the only blemish on his card a double-bogey at the second. That leaves him on seven under par and one shot back heading into the final round and he thinks a repeat performance on Sunday could be enough. He said: "I hope it will give me a good chance tomorrow to fight for the win. Another 66 tomorrow and I think we'll have a chance."
Magic from Meronk
When Meronk missed the green at the short eighth in very blustery conditions, you could forgive him if he had damage limitation on his mind. But a magnificent chip from the Pole landed on the green and ran into the cup for a valuable birdie two.
Otaegui's fine finish
Like so many others on Saturday, things did not go Adrian Otaegui's way on the front nine as he carded four bogeys and two birdies to turn in 38. But he made amends on the back nine, with four birdies and no dropped shots to come home in 32 and sign for a third successive 70.
