The 78th edition of the Omega European Masters is already shaping up to be one to remember, with the confirmed participation of two iconic names in international golf: Matt Wallace, fresh off his 2024 triumph in Crans-Montana, and Miguel Ángel Jiménez, a beloved regular who will be making his 35th appearance at the event he holds so dear.
Wallace returns this year with the coveted status of defending champion. Last September, the Englishman mastered the intricacies of the Severiano Ballesteros course to claim a confident and widely praised victory.
His success in Crans-Montana added another chapter to an already impressive career on both the DP World Tour and PGA Tour.
First victorious on the European circuit in 2017, Wallace earned his fifth DP World Tour title in 2024 by conquering the Valais Alps.
In 2025, he continued to demonstrate his consistency at the highest level, securing two solid top 20 finishes, first at the Corales PuntaCana Championship, then at the US PGA Championship.
A longtime admirer of the region, where he used to ski as a child, Wallace described his victory at the Omega European Masters as “a very special moment in my career.”
Jiménez, meanwhile, embodies the very soul of the tournament.
The Spanish veteran will compete at the Omega European Masters for an incredible 35th time, an unmatched feat of longevity.
Winner in 2010 and long-time ambassador for both the tournament and Omega, Jiménez remains one of the most beloved and respected figures in global golf.
With over 720 appearances and 21 wins on the DP World Tour and 13 PGA TOUR Champions victories, he continues to build his career with undiminished passion.
“As long as I feel I can make birdies, you’ll find me at the Omega European Masters,” he said with a smile last year.
Whether on the fairways of Crans-sur-Sierre or enjoying a glass of wine on a terrace, Jiménez remains a true icon that fans will be delighted to see again from 28–31 August 2025.
With these two headline names, the tournament already promises unforgettable moments, and this is just the beginning. More big names will soon be announced.
