DID YOU KNOW - KING’S CUP PRESENTED BY PTT GROUP
• The King’s Cup Presented by PTT Group is the third of four new events on the 2016 European Tour International Schedule. They are: Australian PGA Championship, Maybank Championship Malaysia, King’s Cup Presented by PTT Group and Fiji International.
• The King’s Cup Presented by PTT Group is the second co-sanctioned event with the Asian Tour this season to be played in Thailand, following the True Thailand Classic presented by Chang.
• The 2016 season is the first time that Thailand have staged two official European Tour events in the same season.
• The King’s Cup Presented by PTT Group is the 97th event co-sanctioned just between the European and Asian Tours since the first one in 1999, the Malaysian Open.
• This tournament will be 17th different official event to be co-sanctioned purely between the Asian and European Tour.
• The event will be the third different official European Tour tournament to be played in Thailand. The first two were the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1992, 1994, 1998, 2001, 2004 and 2007 and True Thailand Classic Presented by Chang in 2015-2016.
