Darren Clarke, Miguel Ángel Jiménez and Paul Lawrie will tee it up in The Senior Open Presented by Rolex from July 25-28, 2024.

Clarke, a 14-time DP World Tour winner, became only the fourth man in the history of the game to complete The Open and Senior Open double, joining the illustrious company of Bob Charles, Gary Player and Tom Watson when he triumphed at Gleneagles in 2022.
“Winning the Senior Open in 2022 was one of the highlights of my career and being able to see that trophy alongside my Claret Jug is a true privilege,” Clarke said.
“I love playing in the Senior Open every year and the fact we get to play on such an array of outstanding courses is such a treat. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there in July.”
Jiménez, a two-time Ryder Cup winner, has two Senior Major titles to his name following victories at the Regions Tradition and Senior Open in 2018, and the Spaniard is relishing the opportunity to add to his back catalogue when he tees it up for the tenth time in this prestigious event.
“The Senior Open is a great Championship and I am excited to visit Carnoustie later this year,” the Spaniard said.
“I finished third the last time the tournament was held at Carnoustie, so I have good memories and it is one of my favourite courses to play. Hopefully I can have another strong week this year.”
Scotland’s Lawrie played a major role in what was arguably the most famous moment in Carnoustie’s history, when the 55-year-old won the 1999 Open Championship following a dramatic final round where he came from ten shots back to defeat Jean van de Velde and Justin Leonard in a play-off.
Two years later, he tasted further Carnoustie success with victory in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the Aberdeen native is looking forward to returning to a venue which holds such fond memories.
“Carnoustie will always hold a special place in my heart after my win in 1999 and I’m really excited to play a Senior Open there for the first time,” he said.
“As a Scotsman, there is nothing quite like playing in front of Scottish fans and I’m really excited to do so again later this year. Hopefully we get lucky with the weather and everyone comes out in their numbers.”
This will be the third time the Championship has visited Carnoustie, with 12-time Senior Major winner Bernhard Langer winning in 2010, before Paul Broadhurst’s triumph in 2016.
Tickets start at £15 for adults, £7.50 for youths aged 16-24, while tickets for under 16s are completely free with any paid ticket.
