INTERESTING FACTS
Since 1996, apart from 1998 when the event was cancelled, every player who has led going into the final round has gone on to win. Welshman David Park, captured his maiden European Tour title in the 1999 event, in only his second ever European Tour start, after being beaten in a play-off the previous week at the Moroccan Open by Miguel Angel Martin. When the event was cancelled in 1998, it was the first time on The European Tour that an event has been cancelled and not replayed.
