INTERESTING FACTS
Since the World Golf Championships were first introduced onto the European Tour International Schedule in 1999 they have been dominated by Tiger Woods. This will be his 12th WGC event, having won five; 1999 American Express Championship, 1999, 00, 01 WGC Invitational and the 2000 EMC² World Cup and been placed in the top ten, ten times. Two of his wins came in play-offs, the 1999 American Express Championships beating Miguel Angel Jiménez and out-lasting Jim Furyk over seven holes at the 2001 NEC Invitational. Currently Woods has a 100% record in European Tour play-offs, five wins from five appearances. Mike Weir's win in 2000 marked the first win by a Canadian in an official European Tour event since Jerry Anderson at the 1984 Ebel European Masters.
