The 28 year old was joined on that mark by New Zealand’s Mark Brown, who followed up his third round course record 65 with three birdies in his first eight holes.

Australian Scott Strange and England’s David Dixon were also in the mix at six under through eight, with Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat and Austrian Markus Brier a shot further back.

The 31 year old Finch had revealed after round three he would not be losing any sleep over how to approach his last 18 holes at Beijing CBD International GC.
