Fox and Lee to join defending champion Migliozzi in France

The Cazoo Open de France has been bolstered by the addition of Ryan Fox, Guido Migliozzi and Min Woo Lee when Continental Europe’s oldest national Open returns to Le Golf National from September 21-24.

The trio, boasting eight DP World Tour wins between them, will all tee it up at the 2018 Ryder Cup venue, which will host the 105th edition of the Open de France the week before the biennial contest returns to Europe at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club. Italy’s Migliozzi will defend the title he won in stunning fashion in 2022, as he came from five shots off the lead to win by one thanks to a course record-equalling 62, and he is excited to return to the scene of one of European golf’s greatest days.

“The Cazoo Open de France is a truly historic event and I am so honoured to be returning this year as defending champion,” he said.

“You can feel the history when you arrive at Le Golf National. I will never forget watching the Ryder Cup in 2018 and to have added my name to the record books with my win last year is such a special feeling.

“That shot into 18 will live with me forever. It was one of the best rounds I’ve ever played and to cap it off like I did was amazing.”

New Zealand’s Fox will return to France’s national open for the first time since 2019 and is looking forward to competing at a venue where his best finish is a sixth place on his tournament debut in 2017.

“There are not many things I can say about Le Golf National that haven’t already been said. It’s a magnificent golf course and a perfect tournament venue,” he said.

“It’s great for spectators and it’s also a great place to play golf. It is challenging but can also be rewarding at the same time, if you approach it in the right way.

“I haven’t played in France for a few years so I’m looking forward to getting back there and hopefully having a good week.”

Australia’s Lee is one of the brightest young talents on the DP World Tour, having won his title at the ISPS HANDA Vic Open and then, in 2021, went on to claim his first Rolex Series title in Scotland.

He has since broken into the top 50 on the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time after securing his best Major Championship finish to date, a tie for fifth in June’s U.S. Open and he will now make his Cazoo Open de France debut later this year.

“I love playing in events which have a lot of history and you don’t get much more historic than the Open de France.

“Some of the biggest names to ever play the game have won this event so there is a real incentive to put yourself alongside those guys.

“I’ve played quite well so far this season, without getting a win, so I’d love to tick that off before reaching the end of the year.”

General admission tickets for all four days and premium hospitality options are now available to purchase and fans are encouraged to buy early to avoid disappointment.
