South Africa's Dylan Frittelli held a one shot lead heading into the closing stretch of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open as strong winds led to tough final round conditions.
Having began the day one behind leaders Arjun Atwal and Louis De Jager, Frittelli birdied the second but failed to get up-and-down at the fourth to hand the shot back,
Frittelli, who was named European Tour Graduate of the Year at the start of the week after finishing 19th on the 2017 Race to Dubai, chipped in for an unikely par at the sixth, picked up another shot at the seventh and got up-and-down from a bunker at the ninth before chipping close at the tenth for back-to-back birdies.
At 15 under he led by one from Atwal, who was one under through the turn after holing a six footer for birdie on the ninth having cancelled out an opening bogey with a gain on the second.
Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines had briefly led after chipping in for eagle on the second and also had three birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey six on the fourth after losing his tee shot.
That left him in a share of third on 13 under with De Jager, who notched his first birdie of the day on the ninth to stay in contention.
Earlier a late charge from Louis Oosthuizen had lit up the final round.
Former Open champion Oosthuizen began his final round six shots back and there was little sign of a late title tilt when he turned in a one under par 34.
However, the South African started for home with a hat-trick of birdies and then hit a spectacular second to the par five 14th to set up his second eagle of the day.
His challenge ended as abruptly as it had began, with a wayward shot finding trees on the 16th and leading to a triple-bogey seven.
De Jager birdied the 10th from two fee to get within one, and was second on his own when his playing partner Atwal bogeyed the 11th after finding a bunker with his approach.
Atwal, who the last of his three European Tour titles almost a decade ago, responded with a birdie from eight feet on the 12th.
