Genworth Stats Pack - Summary Report

Round 4 of the Alstom Open de France produced 14 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 72.94. Graeme McDowell emerged as the winner on -9 with Richard Sterne, Eduardo De La Riva and Graeme Storm finishing as his closest challengers. We analyse their performances plus we round up the final Genworth Statistics leaders.

Graeme MCDOWELL -9

Graeme McDowell converted five birdies against one bogey on his way to a superb final round 67 to take the title (only Victor Dubuisson managed to beat that final round score). Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 33 year old golfer from Northern Ireland seemed to be in complete control of his long game all week, ranking 15th for Driving Accuracy (with 40/56 fairways) and 1st for Greens in Regulation (with 57/72 greens). The now nine time European Tour winner also Scrambled for Par 11/15 times to drop just four shots in total over the week (the fewest dropped shots of all the players). This is Graeme’s third victory of the year worldwide, and with it he climbs to 2nd position on the Race to Dubai.

Richard STERNE -5

Richard Sterne picked up three birdies on the outward nine holes of the final round but unfortunately gave them back on the inward nine to finish four shots behind McDowell at the finish. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 31 year old South African drove the ball long off the tee (ranking 7th for Driving Distance) and hit 48/72 Greens in Regulation (9 less than McDowell), but his touch on and around the greens was excellent, plus he ranked 1st for Par 5 Scoring alongside Richard Green with a 4.42 average. With this runner up finish, the six time European Tour winner climbs to 4th position on the Race to Dubai.

Eduardo DE LA RIVA -4

Eduardo De La Riva converted four birdies against two bogeys on his way to a final round 69. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 31 year old Spanish golfer looked strong from tee to green this week, ranking 13th for Driving Accuracy, 10th for Greens in Regulation and 5th for Scrambling, plus he scored well across the different hole types (being the Par 3’s / Par 4’s / Par 5’s). This result more than doubles Eduardo’s winnings for the year, pushing him up into the top 60 on the Race to Dubai.

Graeme STORM -4

Much the same as De La Riva, Graeme Storm also converted four birdies against two bogeys on his way to a final round 69, and he also looked strong from tee to green for the week. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 35 year old Englishman hit 52/72 Greens in Regulaion plus three of the Par 5 greens in sub-regulation (two shots). But in contrast to the good tee to green play he ranked much lower for each putting category. This is Graeme’s best result of the season so far, and again the same as De La Riva, it pushes him up into the top 60 on the Race to Dubai.
