Golfers take on the perfect Piña Colada | Hilton

You’ve seen us challenge golfers with their clubs on the course, but how about a challenge off the course?

Well, wait no longer as we’ve teamed up with our Official Partner Hilton to bring you a new series.

Around the world, Hilton pride themselves on first class service and experiences for their guests when they stay at one of their properties. This week, we’ve challenged two of our players to try and recreate the perfect Piña Colada. The Piña Colada was first served at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1954, the hotel’s bartender, Ramón “Monchito” Marrero experimented with a new recipe that blended rum, coconut cream, and pineapple juice in an icy beverage. After three months of perfecting the recipe, Marrero felt that the drink finally captured the flavours of Puerto Rico and named it the “Piña Colada.” The new cocktail was served by Marrero for 35 years, and became the official drink of Puerto Rico in 1978.

Andy and Dean will have five minutes to recreate this beverage and the winner will be judged by the mixologist, Tom, who earlier showed them how to make the perfect Piña Colada.
