Grégory Havret appointed to the European Tour Group's Board of Directors

The European Tour Group - which administers the DP World Tour, HotelPlanner Tour, Legends Tour, G4D Tour and the Ryder Cup in Europe - is delighted to announce the appointment of Grégory Havret to its Board of Directors.

Havret is a three-time winner on the DP World Tour and finished runner-up at the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.

The 48 year old Frenchman made a total of 560 appearances on the DP World Tour after turning professional in 1999, winning the 2001 Atlanet Italian Open, the 2007 Barclays Scottish Open and the 2008 Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.

His most recent tournament was last October’s FedEx Open de France when he made his farewell DP World Tour appearance in his national Open at Le Golf National. He was also part of European Captain Thomas Bjorn’s backroom team for the 2018 Ryder Cup at the same venue in Paris.

Havret retired from playing last year to take up a role with the French Golf Federation, with the aim of helping to develop future golfing talent in his home country.

Havret said: “I am very proud and very happy to be able to continue my journey with the DP World Tour and the European Tour Group, which I consider like a second family.

“This Tour, and golf more broadly, have given me a lot: fulfilment, support and balance over those 25 rich years.

“I can only thank the Board for offering me such an opportunity. I now have the chance to give back to this sport some of what it has given me, and I am really looking forward to starting at my first meeting on Monday.”

Eric Nicoli, Chairman of the European Tour Group, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Grégory to our Board of Directors.

“Having competed globally on the DP World Tour for more than 25 years, Grégory combines considerable knowledge and experience of our Tour, along with a passion for what makes it so unique and special.

“He is hugely respected by our players, our staff and our stakeholders and he will be another excellent addition to our Board.”

Havret joins Thomas Bjørn, Paul Eales, Chris Hanell, David Howell, Robert Lee and Ove Sellberg as Tournament Committee Directors, with Chairman Eric Nicoli, Abdulla Al Naboodah, Penny Avis, Martha Brass, Martin Gilbert, Jay Monahan serving as Non-Executive Directors.
