Joachim B. Hansen was delighted to keep riding the wave of momentum as he put himself right in contention to make it back to back European Tour wins at the 2020 Alfred Dunhill Championship.
The Dane lifted the trophy at last week's Joburg Open but found himself five shots off the lead after 18 holes in the stunning surroundings of Leopard Creek Country Club.
He soon set about putting that right in round two, turning in 32 to move up the leaderboard and then birdieing three of his last four holes to post the lowest round of the week and get to ten under.
The last player to win in back to back weeks on the European Tour was Justin Rose in 2017, while Jeunghun Wang was the last man to follow up his maiden victory with another seven days later in 2016 - also in co-sanctioned events with the Sunshine Tour.
And while there is still a long way to go in the second event of the South African Swing, Hansen is full of confidence on the edge of the Kruger National Park.
"It's really nice to be playing the way I'm playing right now so I'm just trying to keep it going," he said. "I love South Africa.
"The greens were a bit softer and there wasn't as much wind when we started, a different wind direction today as well. We got a good run out there.
"They're rolling so nice, it's really nice.

"I got really going out there. I got some really good putts holed and just kept on going. We got off to a hot start and a nice eagle on 13 as well.
"Then we hit a bad shot on 16 which went back in the water unfortunately but I saved it with a bogey there.
"A bit of a slow start to the front nine but at the end the putts rolled in again. It's working quite well right now so hopefully it will keep going a few more days."
