Mikko Ilonen claimed a record-breaking 8 and 7 victory over Matthieu Pavon to ease into the second round of the Paul Lawrie Match Play at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach.
History had already been made in the morning session as Edoardo Molinari beat Robert Karlsson on the 24th hole in the longest match in tournament history and the books were opened once again in the afternoon.
Ilonen's crushing triumph was the biggest win ever in the event and set up a second-round clash against local favourite Marcel Siem.
It was a good day for the host nation with Siem's win following victories for Florian Fritsch in the morning, Maximilian Kieffer and Alexander Knappe.
Top seed Matthew Southgate also progressed from the afternoon wave along with tournament host Paul Lawrie.

Finn Ilonen has some match play pedigree having won the Volvo World Match Play Championship in 2014 and was simply unstoppable from the off on Thursday afternoon.
He birdied the first and second before putting a three wood to tap-in range on the third for an eagle. He birdied the fifth, won the sixth with a par, and then won the eighth, ninth and tenth and ended the match eight under for 11 holes.
"It was a fast start, definitely," he said. "I hit my three wood on the third hole to about a foot, kept the gas on the floor and I think it was eight under when I finished.
"Match play anything can happen. Even if I was three up after three I could be one down after nine, you never know how it goes. Today was my day and Matthieu didn't get anything going.

"The game is definitely feeling better, there's been a few changes. I'm not sure if it's showing this week but at least it feels different so I can definitely hit better shots right now than a couple of months ago. It's progress and it's nice to get something going late in the summer. That's my best golf that I've played for a long time."
Siem was all square with Frenchman Julien Quesne after 13 holes but won the 14th and 16th in a 2 and 1 victory.
Kieffer birdied the second, third and fourth and while he surrendered the next, he won the eighth and 11th for a 4 and 3 victory over Swede Magnus A Carlsson and a second round clash against Australian Marcus Fraser, who beat France's Grégory Bourdy 2 and 1.
Knappe was a relatively comfortable 2 and 1 winner over Dane Lasse Jensen in a match where all but four holes were halved, and will next face Ryder Cup winner Victor Dubuisson, a 3 and 2 victor over Wales' Bradley Dredge.

Southgate led by three holes after four against Romain Wattel but needed to win the 13th and 16th in a 3 and 2 triumph to set up a clash against Swede Johan Carlsson, who beat England's Daniel Brooks 2 and 1.
Scot Lawrie holed clutch putts on the 18th and 20th to beat former Ryder Cup team-mate Peter Hanson and will next face Alejandro Cañizares, a 3 and 1 winner over Richard Bland.
Ireland's Paul Dunne needed just four birdies to beat Australian Nathan Holman 6 and 5 and his prize is a match against Jens Fahrbring, who beat fellow Swede Johan Edfors 2 and 1.
Belgian Thomas Detry beat Eduardo De La Riva 3 and 1 and he will next face another Spaniard in Nacho Elvira, a one up winner against South African Justin Walters.
Tom Lewis and Zander Lombard will face each other in the remaining last-32 clash after the Englishman beat Scot Richie Ramsay 3 and 2 and Lombard overcame Sébastien Gros 2 and 1.
