INFINITUM has this year played host to the DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage for the sixth time and once again proved why it is the perfect venue for the toughest test in golf.
The Lakes and Hills courses have each provided a unique test for the 156 players battling it out over six rounds to finish in the top 20 and ties and secure their place on the DP World Tour for 2025.
The Hills Course is played between natural pine trees and cliffs, with panoramic sea views, while the Lakes Course surrounds the lakes and the Sèquia Major wetlands, one of the most important ecosystems in the region.
The Lakes has also seen changes since 2023, with an €800,000 redevelopment of its bunkers, with the Hills set for major renovations over the next two years.
And these courses would not be what they are without the world class greenkeeping staff, who got them ready to play in pristine condition on day one after heavy rainfall and flooding in the build up to the event.
"The agronomy, they've done an unbelievable job this week," said four-time DP World Tour winner and Ryder Cup star Stephen Gallacher.
"People don't realise, we had 100mm of rain on Monday and the course is absolutely amazing. What a job they've done."
Sustainability is also at the forefront of INFINITUM resort. All irrigation water comes from the desalination plant, which collects and treats water from neighbouring towns before recycling it. The plant operators receive specialised training to manage the complex treatment process. This system provides significant environmental benefits, as it reduces the discharge of pollutants into the sea. INFINITUM has obtained prestigious environmental certifications, such as the Gold Signature from Audubon and GEO, which require maintaining high environmental standards in all operations.
The Lakes is located within a protected natural area, and to preserve it, the resort controls the use of phytosanitary products on its golf courses. Using recycled water from the desalination plant reduces the resort’s water consumption and contributes to environmental conservation. INFINITUM demonstrates a commitment to responsible and sustainable practices, benefiting the resort and surrounding ecosystems.
The protected green space of Sèquia Major is a 17.3-hectare wetland of reeds, poplars and willows that houses one of Catalonia’s best populations of the highly endangered European pond turtle and Spanish toothcarp.
The resort as a whole surfaces is one of Europe’s most highly sought after lifestyle and leisure experiences, with world-class golf, modern gastronomy, off-course activities, and a contemporary beach club featuring state-of-the-art facilities, including ten swimming pools, a Tapas Bar, and one of Costa Daurada’s best restaurants.
