Days on from his Major Championship debut at the US PGA Championship, Jesper Svensson is the first in our new Player in Focus series which spotlights a DP World Tour member.
The Swede has enjoyed a brilliant rookie campaign since graduating from the European Challenge Tour last year, claiming his maiden DP World Tour title at the Porsche Singapore Classic in March.
That performance came on the back of two second-place finishes earlier in the season in South Africa and Bahrain for the 28-year-old.
But it was his victory in the Far East at the start of the Asian Swing, coupled with a top 20 at the Volvo China Open earlier this month, that helped him earn an invite to the second men’s Major of the year.
On the cusp of breaking into the top 100 on the Official World Golf Ranking, Svensson played all four rounds at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
After opting to miss the Soudal Open, he will return to action on the DP World Tour at the European Open in Germany next week, when the European Swing continues.
Throughout the remainder of the season, the Player in Focus series presented by DP World, the official title and logistics partner of the DP World Tour, will enable fans to better get to know some of our members.
