Jacob Skov Olesen is heading back to The Open Championship after securing his place at Royal Portrush through Final Qualifying.
There were 20 places available across four different venues on Tuesday, with hopefuls taking on 36 holes at Burnham and Berrow, Dundonald Links, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire.
They needed a place in the top five to secure their place in the season's final Major Championship and Dane Olesen fired rounds of 65-69 at Burnham and Barrow to finish secnd at eight under alongside England's Harry Hall, one behind another fellow DP World Tour member in Justin Walters.
Olesen became the first Dane to win The Amateur Championship in 2024 and went on to finish 60th at The Open but gave up his place at the Masters and the U.S. Open after securing his DP World Tour card at the Qualifying School and turnng professional.
The decision looks a good one as he currently sits 55th on the Race to Dubai Rankings and in line for the Play-Offs and he has now ensured his 2025 season will not be Major-free.
“I’m happy to be back," said Olesen. "Once you get the taste for it like I did last year you want to play in The Open again. I had a really fun week at Royal Troon."
Walters is currently playing on the HotelPlanner Tour for a second consecutive season after losing his card in 2023 following several seasons as a DP World Tour regular.
The South African has been open about his personal struggles in recent years when he even contemplated retirement and he was in tears as he secured his place at The Open for the first time since 2014.
“It hasn’t quite sunk in," said Walters. "I have the Royal Liverpool flag framed in my bedroom and I stared at it for a long time two days ago. I just said to myself ‘it would be really nice to play again’ – and so here we are. I’m very happy.
"I’m 45 now and I was worried that I’m running out of opportunities to play on the biggest of stages. So it really means a lot to me to get it done today."
Hall will be making his first appearance in his home Major, almost exactly 12 months on from his maiden DP World Tour victory at the ISCO Championship.
“It means a lot," said the 27-year-old Englishman, who had great support. This is what I’ve want to do for a very long time, I want to get a Green Jacket and a Claret Jug - and you’ve got to be in it to win it. Anyone that came from Cornwall, I’ll buy them a drink now.”
Nathan Kimsey will also be making an Open - and Major - debut in Northern Ireland after he fired rounds of 69-69 at Royal Cinque Ports.

The 2016 Qualifying School winner and 2022 HotelPlanner Tour number one finished four shots behind South African Dean Burmester, who will be playing his fourth Open.
“That’s one of the best rounds of golf I’ve played," said the four-time DP World Tour winner after carding a 64 in his second round. "It was just flawless from the get-go this afternoon."
Dane John Axelsen took the last spot in Kent affter two rounds of 70.
There was drama at West Lancashire as it went to a four-man play-off to decide the final places after three-time DP World Tour winner Lucas Herbert had finished top of the pile.
Finnish HotelPlanner Tour graduate Oliver Lindell made it through the play-off for a Major debut before Estonian amateur Richard Teder holed out from the fairway for an eagle to take the final spot.
And at Dundonald Links, Spaniard Angel Hidalgo qualified for the second season in a row after rounds of 71-67, alongside in-form Daniel Young, who arrived off the back of consecutive top threes on the HotelPlanner Tour.
Three-time European number one Lee Westwood finished top of the leaderboard in Scotland.
