The Basque golfer will fulfil his commitment to play in Spain’s biggest professional golf tournament, an event with an illustrious history and one of the oldest on the European continent.

Rahm has confirmed his presence at a competition where he has earned a historic record. A three-time winner of the Open de España (2018, 2019 and 2022), he is bidding to surpass Severiano Ballesteros with a fourth victory and draw nearer to the record of Angel de la Torre, who won five titles in his national open early in the 20th century, between 1916 and 1925.

Rahm’s special relationship with the Open de España presented by Madrid has also produced some incredible records, including those of 2022, when Rahm was crowned champion after the lowest winning score in the history of the tournament: 259 shots (-25), an all-time record for the Open de España.

His last appearance in the Spanish capital was also a memorable one. In 2024’s event he was on the verge of claiming another win but Malaga native Angel Hidalgo pipped him to the post in a sensational playoff.

Historically, the presence of Rahm has proved a huge draw for the fans, who will once again be able to enjoy watching him at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, which has welcomed huge numbers of fans in recent years.
