Former European Number One Robert Karlsson replaced his amateur namesake at the top of the leaderboard when the second round of the Nordea Masters began in Stockholm.
The former Ryder Cup star had been two shots adrift of his 22 year old compatriot overnight, as well as South African Jaco Van Zyl and another Swede, Alex Noren.
But starting his second round on the tenth, 41 year old Karlsson reeled off four consecutive birdies from the 15th to turn in a three under par 33.
At six under for the week he was a shot clear of afternoon starters Noren, Van Zyl and Karlsson, as well as a fourth local - Niklas Lemke.
Lemke opened with a 68 and four birdies with three bogeys over his opening 13 holes took him to five under.
The home fans were certainly being given plenty to cheer - Fredrik Andersson Hed eagled the 15th and at four under after ten he had taken the number of Swedes in the top ten to seven.
