Campillo still on top

Although his second-round 71 looked nothing like Thursday's stunning 63, it was enough to keep him at the summit. In tricky conditions, Campillo made two birdies and a single bogey on Friday to get to ten under par and lead by two strokes.

Meronk's remarkable recovery

Heading into Friday's second round looking to build on his opening 69, Adrian Meronk instead found himself battling to make the cut after carding back-to-back double bogeys at the first and second to slip to one over par. But he kept a cool head and battled back brilliantly, picking up shots at the fourth and seventh before reeling off a hat-trick of birdies from the tenth and adding another on the 17th to head into the weekend on five under.

Perez's shot-of-the-day contender

It might not have been the week defending champion Victor Perez was hoping for but the Frenchman did produce this highlight-reel chip to close his second round with a birdie at the ninth. Shot of the day? See what you think...

Boef takes on the pros

Ronald Boef, a blind golfer, got a great reception from the home crowd as he took on the pros at the par-three eighth.

Paratore's big finish

Renato Paratore was delighted to play his way into contention on Friday as he bids to put the heartbreak of how 2022 ended behind him. The two-time DP World Tour winner lost his full playing privileges last year by the narrowest of margins, missing out on a card by one place as he finished 118th in the Rankings. A trip to the Qualifying School beckoned, where he fell agonisingly short of securing his playing rights again, finishing a single shot outside the top 25 and on the wrong side of the line once more. But he looked to be back to his best as he produced a second successive 68, closing with a hat-trick of birdies. "It’s been a wonderful day," said Paratore. "It was tough today but I played so solid tee-to-green. I think it’s been two years without being in contention. Finally I am, I’m so happy, I can’t wait to play on Saturday."
