Kristoffer Reitan hailed the best round of his career after a stunning course record 62 at the Soudal Open saw him set the clubhouse target.
The 28-year-old from Norway started the day in 23rd place on the leaderboard but reeled off ten birdies at Rinkven International GC, including six in a row around the turn.
At 13 under he drew level with overnight leader Ewen Ferguson at the top of the leaderboard and faced a lengthy wait to see if any of the late starters could surpass his score.
“I just felt like all parts of the game were clicking today,” said Reitan, who graduated from last season's HotelPlanner Tour and finished second at the recent Hainan Classic.
“It's been my issue this week, some stuff working, some stuff not working, but today it clicked and that was really nice.
“Definitely the best round I've played. Tough conditions as well – I think I played some of my best golf today so very, very pleased.
“I was aiming towards the conservative side of the pins and I just seemed to steer it in the direction of the pins, it was one of those days that worked very nicely. I hit it well off the tee which is such an advantage on this course and that set it up.
“I'm just going to try and relax a little bit and wait until the other guys finish – when they get closer to the clubhouse I'll head to the green and hit some shots.”
