Mikael Lundberg took advantage of his early start at the Quinn Insurance British Masters to move into an outright lead at The Belfry.
Having been level with Marcus Fraser overnight following an opening five under par 67, Lundberg picked up a birdie at the par four 16th to move to six under after seven holes having started at the tenth tee.
Earlier fog had delayed the start from 7.30 to 10.45, meaning the second round will run into Saturday, with the third round being played as three balls and using two start tees in an effort to make up the lost time.
England’s David Dixon cut through the field with five birdies in his first seven holes, although the fact that the other two holes contained a bogey and a double bogey at the 445 yard par four sixth meant the 31 year old, who came through Qualifying School last year, was five under and in a tie for second.
Alongside him were former Open Champion Paul Lawrie, who was two under for his second round through six holes, Scot Marc Warren, who was one under on the day after three and Fraser - who was yet to begin and likely to be one of those to have his round span across two days.
Meanwhile England’s Phillip Archer registered a hole in one at the par three seventh to help him reach two under for the tournament.
