Matt Fitzpatrick birdied the last over the fearsome snakepit at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort to claim a one-shot win at the PGA TOUR's Valspar Championship.
Just seven days after agonisingly missing out on victory at THE PLAYERS Championship - where he held a one-shot lead with two to play - the Englishman bounced back in style for a 12th worldwide win.
He entered the final day three shots off the lead but as overnight leader Sungjae Im struggled, a bunched leaderboard emerged in Florida.
A birdie on the third had him in a share of the lead and another on the 16th saw him break out of the pack alongside two-time DP World Tour winner David Lipsky.
He then held his nerve over a 14-foot right-to-lefter on the last for a closing birdie, a bogey-free 68 and a one-shot victory at 11 under.
"I felt like last week I played so well, right until the end," he said. "To lose the way I did, it's always disappointing, always feels like it takes a little out of you when you spend four days of your life battling to try and get that top spot, and to lose it right at the death is always difficult to take.
"So this week was important to get back on the horse and try and push myself to continue playing well."
The win is Fitzpatrick's second in four months after he claimed a third triumph at the DP World Tour Championship in November and part of a run of form that has seen him not a miss a cut for almost 12 months.
The purple patch also helped earn him a pick for Luke Donald's Ryder Cup team where he earned 2½ points in Europe's victory and also raises him to career-high matching sixth on the Official World Golf Ranking after being outside the top 75 in July.

"It was tough this time last year," he added. "I missed the cut at THE PLAYERS, played really badly. Had a change in my team on the caddie front. And then didn't make the cut at Valero and kind of scrambling my way around Augusta.
"It was hard. I didn't really know what was going to happen. It's hard. That's why, you know, I hate the game and I love the game.
"It is a frustrating game, but we keep coming back because for moments like on the last today. But, yeah, it was definitely a tough time and I wasn't obviously happy with my game at that moment in time. But I think I've learned that obviously you can get over that."
Fellow DP World Tour members Jordan Smith and Marco Penge were in the leading logjam at nine under, with Smith finishing at that mark in third, one shot clear of Penge.
