We’ve got a customised pair of Footjoy MyJoys up for grabs for theMy European Tourfan that correctly picks the winning effort from another sumptuous seven in theOctober Shot of the Month competition.
With winter settling in across much of Europe there was just time for a couple more events at home before the players headed off on their season-ending eastern odyssey, with shots featuring from the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Portugal Masters, ISPS Handa Perth International and the BMW Masters.
Four fantastic events, all you have to do is pick your favourite from this list and you could win.
Shot 1:Ernie Els got the ball rolling with a gorgeous pitch during the third round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, judging the humps and hollows of St Andrew’s short 12th green with the mastery of a two-time Open Champion, rolling the ball into the cup for an unlikely eagle two en route to a tie for 34thplace.
Shot 2:Compatriot, and eventual champion at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Branden Grace is next on the list thanks to his pin-point third to the par four second green during the final round en route to a fourth European Tour title of 2012.
Shot 3:With the players taking in a last glimpse of autumn sunshine at the Portugal Masters, Darren Clarke signed off his opening round at the Oceânico Victoria Golf Course in style, flighting in a perfect mid-iron at the par four ninth that pitched just feet from the hole before finding the bottom of the cup for an eagle two.
Shot 4:With water framing the left hand side of the daunting 11that Oceânico Victoria Golf Course, Ross Fisher took dead aim from the right-hand fairway bunker during the third round, ignoring the hazard and boring a six-iron some 164-yards through the teeth of the wind before landing it, soft as you like, for the easiest of birdie threes.
Shot 5:After a delightful drive that found the left half of the fairway, once again at the par four 11th, but this time during Sunday’s tense final round, Shane Lowry was convinced that his second shot would ‘be right’, but he didn’t know how right it would be, as he watched it roll in for an eagle two that helped clinch the Portugal Masters title and his first win as a professional.
Shot 6:Emiliano Grillo showed some impressive skills from the right rough of Lake Karrinyup’s ninth hole, pitching the ball past the cup, before violently spinning it back into the hole for an outrageous eagle two on his way to a four shot second round lead at the ISPS Handa Perth International.
Shot 7:With the trophy almost in his grasp, and heading down the last with a two shot lead over World Number One Rory McIlroy, Peter Hanson was faced with an incredibly daunting chip from a plugged lie on the lip of the greenside bunker at 18, but the Swede remained unfazed, popping out a sublime effort that used all the contours available to him before rolling down to within ten feet of the cup and secure victory.
