Nathan Kimsey dealt with a flying distraction as he became the third man to make a hole in one at this week's Investec South African Open Championship.
Kimsey's seven-iron tee shot at the par-three 17th, playing 186 yards on day three at Blair Atholl Golf & Equestrian Estate, saw him emulate Hennie du Plessis and Tom McKibbin's efforts on day one.
The fourth ace of his career also earned him a prize of 500,000 rand on offer at the hole from sponsors CIB - but he revealed he was initially unaware of his success.
“It was quite a funny one really," said Kimsey.
"I actually had a bird shadow fly across my ball as I was making my downswing so kind of lost focus a little bit, just hit the shot and didn’t really watch it to be honest.
“Just walked up there and halfway up we realised it had gone in so it was pretty cool.
“That’s four now, getting a couple more so it’s nice."
Kimsey, fresh from a tie for 13th at last week's Joburg Open, finished his round at five under par for the tournament and while the Englishman is not likely to challenge leader Thriston Lawrence, he is enjoying his experience at the tournament.
“It’s fantastic, it’s obviously a really big event down here, a great field and a great set-up at this golf course as well so really enjoying the week.”
