Nicolai Højgaard is hoping to defend his DP World Tour Championship crown after finishing in the top 70 of the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex.
The Dane won the prestigous season-ending tournament by two shots last year, but needed a strong showing at the Genesis Championship to ensure his place in the first event of the DP World Tour Play-Offs in Abu Dhabi.
The top 70 after Sunday's final round at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea qualified for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, with the top 50 after that event then being eligible for the finale in Dubai.
Højgaard began the week in 78th position and had a lot to make up after a level par opening round. Rounds of 69 and 70 followed before a brilliant 66 on Sunday resulted in a ninth placed finish, climbing up to 67th in the Race to Dubai Rankings in the process.
"It's been an interesting week, it's gone by pretty quick," the 23-year-old said. "A draining week because you know you've got to do something decent there to get to Abu Dhabi.
"I tried to hang in all week and do my best. The last two days, I sent some warning signs but we managed to get through it and then today I've played a nice round of golf, and made a few birdies coming in which I didn't do yesterday which was frustrating.
"I think it all came down to the first round, making a couple birdies and probably the most important bit of it all is I made birdie at 17 and 18 to get into level par.
"I just really wanted to get to the Play-Offs. Today I played a really good round under the gun and I'm just really pleased with it.
"I just want to play. It's one of those events (DP World Tour Championship) that I want to play every year for the rest of my life. It's one of my favourite events, I'm going to do my best to recover next week and try and have a good week in Abu Dhabi.
"I need a really good result at Abu Dhabi to get myself into Dubai, but the golf has been not too bad lately and if I can get myself to recover and loaded again, I'll be ready to give it ago."
Francesco Laporta played his way into the field in Abu Dhabi after a fantastic week in Incheon.
The Italian, who started the tournament in 84th place, was one of six players to hold the lead in some capacity during the final round following four birdies on his first ten holes, but three bogeys down the closing stretch saw him slip down for sixth at 12 under.
South Africa's Casey Jarvis also finished at that mark courtesy of a stunning back nine of 30. He rolled in six birdies, including one at the last, which he celebrated with a noticeable fist pump, to sneak inside the top 70.
Fellow South African Brandon Stone was consistent through the event in Asia with four under par rounds, and he also picked up a shot on his 72nd hole to extend his season.
Malaysia's Gavin Green claimed 69th spot after producing a great finish of four birdies on his final five holes.
