We take a look in the bag of Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand winner Nicolai von Dellingshausen.
From week to week, adjusting to course conditions is a key factor for players on the DP World Tour.
With the Tour not having visited Gut Altentann GC since 1992, the venue posed a new test for those teeing it up in the third counting event of the European Swing.
Add into the mix inclement weather in the lead up to the return of Austria’s national Open and flexibility is often required with club selection to enable success as shown by Von Dellingshausen, who became the 11th first-time winner on the 2025 Race to Dubai.
Due to the soft, wet conditions, the 32-year-old switched his lob wedge grind, going from the Vokey SM10 58-degree 4T grind to a Vokey SM10-WW Proto 58 K grind.
The change came a week after he added the Titleist GT280 mini driver to his bag ahead of the Soudal Open.
Earlier in the season, the German switched to the GT3 hybrid at the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa.
However, away from the top of the bag, it was his putting – using the Titleist, Scotty Cameron Tour Only T-9.5 – that was instrumental to his victory, with the German topping the standings for Strokes Gained: Putting.
