Ever wondered how Marcus Fraser likes his eggs? Neither have we but chances are it’s scrambled.
Last week’s Maybank Championship Malaysia winner has made a name for himself on The European Tour for having one of the best short games in golf but even he has taken that scrambling prowess to new levels recently.
Since the final round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, Fraser has missed 42 greens in seven rounds and made par or better 36 times.
That’s a scrambling rate of more than 85 per cent.
How impressive are those numbers?
Only two players in European Tour history have recorded a season long scrambling percentage of more than 70 per cent (since scrambling was recorded from 2003).
More recently, Luke Donald and Bradley Dredge led the Tour in scrambling in 2015, successfully saving par 65 per cent of the time they missed a green.
In each of his last five European Tour seasons, Fraser has ranked inside the top seven on Tour in scrambling. No other player can make that claim.
Over those years, Fraser missed 2,282 greens in regulation and made par or better 1,445 times - a scrambling success rate of more than 63 per cent.
His short game skills were on full show last weekend in Malaysia, where Fraser missed 15 greens in the final two rounds yet still made 14 pars and this birdie from a bunker on Saturday.
.@Marcusfraser's short game is impressive. Really impressive. #MaybankChampionship https://t.co/GsmJaMVptz

Moving to this week, and the Perth International, and Fraser’s short game mojo continued during the opening round when he missed the green at the par five seventh hole and hit this stunning chip to make an eagle.
"A master around the greens."

Marcus Fraser's short-game is something else! #PerthIntl https://t.co/Y2zyc7ehvQ
After 36 holes, the 37 year old Aussie is nine shots back after rounds of 69 and 73. However, with his short game in this kind of form don’t be surprised if he makes another weekend charge up the leaderboard.
